Alcohol-related incidents keep Delaware police busy
Delaware police investigated a number of alcohol-related and under-age drinking complaints this week.
On Sunday, Sept. 12, a male suspect was observed urinating on a downtown Delaware business, police reports said.
After further investigation, police discovered the man had been consuming alcohol while underage, they said. Delaware Police cited the suspect and he was released to the custody of Ohio Wesleyan University's Public Safety officials.
Another male also was arrested on alcohol-related charges the same day.
According to police reports, the male suspect was observed vomiting near a building at the intersection of William and Liberty streets. Officers said they found him to be intoxicated. He was cited and then released to a sober person.
In a third case, a Delaware police officer was dispatched early Sunday morning for a report of another underage drinking case.
Police reports state they slated a male, 16, for prohibition and obstruction. A female, 19, also was arrested on alcohol-related charges.
Also early Sunday morning, Delaware police responded to a noise complaint only to find more underage drinking.
Police reports state there was a party with underage youth on North Liberty Street. Officers arrested a 19-year-old for permitting underage drinking. Police also arrested three others during the incident.
Delaware police officers arrested an 18-year-old for intoxication on Friday, Sept. 10, police reports state. He was found drunk in the area of Lake Street and Weldon was released to a sober person, police said.
Delaware police responded to the 100 block of Park Avenue at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, after they received a complaint of a man smashing vehicle windows with a baseball bat, police reports said.
But when officers arrived, they didn't find the suspect.
Delaware police reports also added the man had forced his way into his sister's home and had smashed his sister's and mother's vehicle windows over an argument. Both women refused to pursue charges against the suspect.
Officers dispatched at 2:39 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, to Silver Maple Drive found a 21-year-old man to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, they said.
Deleware police arrested then man. Police reports also state officers found a bag of marijuana at the location.
A juvenile male awoke to find his car and keys were gone at 4 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12.
According to police reports, another guest at the residence, in the 1300 block of Middlesex Lane, said there were two female girls at the residence while the juvenile male was asleep, and one of the girls was a runaway.
Officers have not been able to locate the vehicle.

Alcohol (ethanol) is made from fermentation of various plant products.
